Description
A house down this street has sensor that’s emitting trigger signal beyond their property onto the public way, so when you’re minding your own business walking on the sidewalk you’re assaulted by a loud synthetic voice that says, “Hi! You are being recorded!”
I realize that crime is a big problem and we’re hamstrung in policing it such that we’re turning technology upon strangers, friends and neighbors alike.

Just to update this is 29 Livermore Rd.
I just walked past on the sidewalk and you’re right, it is weirdly creepy. About the same volume as various Halloween or Christmas decorations with sound, just a little creepy.
Maybe tilt the device a bit down to the driveway not the sidewalk?

Just because a thing is legal doesn’t necessarily make it right.
Do we really want our kids growing up with the ever-present likelihood they are being filmed?
Also, people with these systems don’t have control of the surveillance data from the company, the state, or hackers. I have immense respect for the role of police in a civilized society and the warrantless access to surveillance data is something that should be debated.
